Rig Mats

These rig mats provide temporary roadways, work pads, and staging surfaces for drilling rigs, service equipment, and heavy haul traffic on Alberta lease sites. Built in the 40 ft x 8 ft format at roughly 6 inches thick and about 1,360 kg apiece, they combine heavy timber decking with welded steel perimeter frames, giving a mat that can be craned into place, interlocked with its neighbours, and driven over repeatedly without breaking up. Laid as access matting they distribute wheel and track loads to protect soft or frozen ground, keep work areas mud-free and safe underfoot, and simplify site cleanup and reclamation when the program wraps up; various sizes and quantities are available to suit anything from a single crane pad to a continuous lease road. Rig mats in this class serve drilling and completions operations, pipeline and facility construction, power projects, and municipal ground protection equally well. As pictured, the mats are stored stacked outdoors at Crossfield, AB; the timber shows the normal grey weathering of yard storage, while the steel frames and banding look straight and intact, supporting the listed good visual condition.
